Boston

In 2005, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston was about to have a new building on its Back Bay. Designed by the architecture firm, Diller, Scofidio and Renfro the structure cantilevers over what would become a boardwalk that directs the public into the building. When the space was under construction and nearly seventy percent completed, Itinerant Gastronomy sent an invitation to the architecture firm of Diller, Scofidio + Renfro for a dinner to be held in the future site of the performing space at the start of winter when the HVAC system had not been completed. The invitation included their client, the ICA—Boston and other local guests from the Boston area.
