Goethals Dining

Built in 1928, the Goethals Bridge connects Staten Island to New Jersey. In 2004, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey contracted with the global constructon firm KiSKA for the ‘Goethals Bridge Deck Rehabilitation Project.’ The rehabilitation required a wooden substructure to be built beneath the actual bridge in order for the work to be accomplished. Five members of the construction crew from KiSKA were invited for a five course breakfast. The meal was prepared and served on the wooden substructure elevated over the Arthur Kill at the midpoint between New York and New Jersey.
